Mukesh Khanna mocks Tiger Shroff’s appearance; says if he plays Shaktimaan, kids will say, ‘Tu baith jaa’

Immediately after declaring that he sees Ranveer Singh to be unfit for the role of Shaktimaan, he spoke disparagingly about Tiger Shroff's appearance as well.

Actor Mukesh Khanna, who is synonymous with the role of Shaktimaan, has been offering his opinion about who could play the superhero in a planned theatrical reboot. He has spoken often about Ranveer Singh being unsuitable for the role, even though the star has been attached to it for years, and in a recent interview, he repeated his past comments about Tiger Shroff being incapable of playing Shaktimaan as well.

In an interview with ABP’s Entertainment Live, Mukesh Khanna said that neither Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Ajay Devgn could play Shaktimaan, because they are already have an ‘image’. In the same interview, however, he said that Ranveer can’t play Shaktimaan because he doesn’t have an image. But he had a different reason for dismissing Tiger Shroff. He said, “Forgive me, but if Tiger Shroff tells a child to flush the toilet as Shaktimaan, the kid will turn around and say to him, ‘Tu baith jaa (Sit down)’.”

He continued, “He is still a child among children, that’s his image. He doesn’t have the stature that one needs to play Shaktimaan, who had a gravity not because of me, but because of the character that he is. Shaktimaan isn’t a brainless brawler. He has a seriousness, he is wise. He is an evolved person, for God’s sake. He is not an ordinary Arnold Schwarzenegger, nor does he have a suit like Iron Man, nor has he flown in from Krypton like Superman. His costume is created by combining the five elements. You can imagine the power he wields, and I don’t want someone who doesn’t have the required stature playing him.”

At a recent press conference, Mukesh Khanna said that Ranveer is desperate to play the character, but nobody can take over the role unless he, Mukesh, gives his go-ahead as the producer. A Shaktimaan film was announced in 2022 by Sony Pictures International, with Ranveer rumoured to play the lead and Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph to helm. No concrete updates have been provided, although Mukesh has never missed an opportunity to run down anybody whose name is attached to the project.
