Merry Christmas trailer: Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi go on a date before the world around them comes crashing down
Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, is expected to give viewers a truly enthralling ride and some thrills along with the January chills.

The much-anticipated trailer of Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, is finally here, and it asserts that the movie encapsulates everything one would expect and more from the filmmaker.
The 140-second trailer begins in a very Sriram Raghavan-ish way, presenting a split screen showcasing two mixer grinders — one grinding food items and the other tablets. Through a series of subsequent shots, the video sets the tone perfectly, highlighting the significance of cinema, carnivals, toys, the colour red and other Christmas-related elements in the film with retro visuals.
“Since the beginning of time, we have all been looking for that one moment. And when that moment comes, we understand that all of life has been in sweet anticipation of it,” a character can be heard saying, as we witness the characters portrayed by Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi enjoying a date on Christmas Eve.
However, as they revel in the night at Katrina’s apartment, a sequence of surreal incidents unfolds, jeopardising the lives of both characters and a young girl. Their only recourse is to “Dial M for Miracles”.

As the trailer progresses, a “lone wolf” (Sanjay Kapoor) enters, whom “the good lord knew how to keep in the right place at the right time.” But things don’t end there; the trailer asserts that Merry Christmas is going to be a mind-blowing film when it concludes with Vijay Sethupathi observing, “Sometimes violence is better than sacrifice.”
While the Hindi version additionally boasts talents like Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan and Tinnu Anand, the Tamil version has stalwarts like Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kavin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams. Radhika Apte and Ashwini Kalsekar have special cameos in both versions.
Bankrolled by Ramesh Taurani, Sanjay Routray, Jaya Taurani and Kewal Garg, Merry Christmas’ songs have been composed by Pritam and penned by Varun Grover. “Viewers can expect a truly enthralling ride at the movies and we promise you some thrills along with the January chills,” the statement added.
While its cinematography is handled by Madhu Neelakandan, Pooja Ladha Surti is the editor of Merry Christmas which will hit the screens on January 12, 2024, in both Hindi and Tamil.
