Ram Mandir trust releases 5-day Pratishtha Dwadashi programme schedule: Here’s what’s in store

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra on Thursday released a detailed five-day schedule for the Pratishtha Dwadashi celebrations to mark the second anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Sources confirmed that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has consented to lead the main event of the second Pran Pratistha ceremony on December 31.

The temple trust officials said that from December 27, along with the daily recitation of the Ramcharitmanas and religious discourses, a series of cultural programmes will be organised every evening till 9 pm on January 2.

On December 29 and 30, the Ramcharitmanas recitation would be held from 8 am to 2 pm, followed by a discourse by Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Ram Dineshacharya from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. A Ramlila performance by Guru Ghasidas University, Chhattisgarh, will take place from 5.30 pm to 7 pm.

On December 31, the Ramcharitmanas recitation would continue from 8 am to 12.30 pm. The main ritual will take place in the presence of Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from 1 pm to 3 pm, followed by a discourse. Further, a poets’ meet will be organised from 6 pm to 7.30 pm, followed by a performance by Anshika Singh of Varanasi.

On January 1, the Ramcharitmanas recitation will be held from 8 am to 2 pm, followed by a discourse till 5.30 pm. Evening cultural programmes from 6 pm to 9 pm will include bhajans by Anup Jalota and Tripta Shakya, and a Ramayana-based dance drama by the Mayuri Dance Group, Firozabad.

On January 2, trust officials said that while the daytime programmes will remain the same, the evening will feature performances by Suresh Wadkar and Sanjoli Pandey, along with the Kathak dance drama Ram Ki Shakti Puja by the Shalina Chaturvedi Group from Delhi.

Four days ago, during the meeting of the trust, the programmes proposed for the Pratishtha Dwadashi were discussed. Officials informed that it was decided in the meeting that all Pratishtha Dwadashi programs will be held at Angad Tila. It was also resolved that a permanent temple will be constructed at the place where Ram Lala, along with his brothers, was believed to be seated before the Pran Pratishtha in 2024. A memorial is also being built in memory of those who sacrificed their lives during the Ram Mandir movement.
