Kapil Sharma answers why Kangana Ranaut laughs only on his show: ‘She doesn’t go anywhere else’

Kangana Ranaut is known for her straightforward attitude, and for not mincing her words. The actor, whose latest film Tejas released in theatres on Friday, isn’t usually seen on reality television shows to promote her films, but in the past, Kangana has been a part of Kapil Sharma’s comedy show on many occasions. In a recent interview, when Kapil was asked why Kangana laughs only on his show, the comedian-actor said that he also realised this recently.

On the All About Eve India podcast, when asked why Kangana only laughs on his show, he said, “I didn’t realise it before. But then someone told me after she had been on our show two-thre times. They told me that she doesn’t go on any other show but mine.” Kapil then explained the possible reason behind this, and said, “There are a lot of things. On a lot of reality shows, when people go to promote their films, they only get to speak for two minutes. But on our show, we create that ambiance that they feel that this show is all about them. It makes them feel comfortable, they get to speak also, and ours is a lighthearted show.”

He then added, “Not just Kangana, anyone who comes, they have a good time and they enjoy themselves.” Kapil’s show has been on hiatus for a few months now.

Meanwhile, Kangana’s Tejas could only manage to earn Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day. Kangana hasn’t had a Hindi-language success in theatres since her 2019 film Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi. Her last few releases – Judgementall Hai Kya, Panga, Thalaivii and Dhaakad – all flopped at the box office. But her Tamil release Chandramukhi 2 did reasonable business.
