Jimmy Shergill, who made his Hindi film debut with Gulzar's acclaimed film Maachis, gained widespread recognition for his pivotal role in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer romantic drama Mohabbatein. However, the actor's busy schedule after the film's release left him with little time for his personal life. In a recent interview, Jimmy revealed that he was so occupied with work that he couldn't attend all the functions of his own wedding and felt like a guest at his own marriage. During a conversation with Cyrus Broacha on his YouTube channel, Jimmy shared, "For two years after Mohabatein, I was doing that kind of roles - all romantic, singing and dance. In the middle, I had been a guest at my own wedding also because I couldn't take out time. Like North Indian weddings they keep the functions for 10-15 days. I couldn't make it for those many days, I was there only for 2-3 days because I was shooting for the film Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar. I only went for the main functions of my marriage. That's how things were 2-3 years after Mohabatein." However, during the interview, Jimmy revealed that he soon realised that his career wouldn't last if he continued to play similar roles. He made a conscious decision to take on unconventional characters, starting with Tigmanshu Dhulia's Haasil (2003), which marked a significant shift in his career. Jimmy Shergill has an exciting upcoming project in Neeraj Pandey's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,"alongside Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The film tells a unique musical love story spanning 20 years and is set between 2002 and 2023.
