I am distraught as Sanjay Dutt is going to jail: Arjun Rampal

Sanjay Dutt will surrender on May 16 as the Supreme Court recently upheld his conviction.

Actor Arjun Rampal today said that he was distressed as actor Sanjay Dutt is going to jail.

“It’s distressing and upsetting (that Sanjay has to go to jail). It’s sad that all this is happening with him. He needs strength and prayers at this time. We all are with him. His family needs support and we are with them,” Arjun told reporters at an event here.

Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal had worked together in David Dhawan’s Rascals.

Incidentally,Arjun played a villain in films Om Shanti Om and Ra.One where Dutt played a cameo.

Earlier,the role of Sher Khan,initially immortalised by legendary actor Pran,in Zanjeer,was to be played by Arjun in the remake version but was later offered to Sanjay Dutt.

Sanjay Dutt will have to surrender on May 16 as the Supreme Court recently upheld his conviction for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case,and will have to serve the remainder of his term.
