Actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have never been ones to shy away from the public eye. They have talked about their relationship extensively and whatever troubles they have faced during their marriage. During a recent interview, Sunita talked about another dark period of her life, when they lost their second child due to premature birth.

During an interview with Usha Kakade on her YouTube channel, Sunita was asked about the most difficult period of her life, and without skipping a beat, she said, “When my second daughter was born, she was born prematurely. She was in my arms for three months, but her lungs didn’t develop properly. So eventually, one night, she couldn’t breathe properly, and she passed away in my arms. That was extremely difficult for me. I could have had two daughters and a son today.”

Sunita has talked about the same during an older interview with Hauterrfly and shared,Premature thi, 8 mahine mein paida ho gayi thi (She was premature, born at 8 months) because I was travelling too much with Govinda.  Mujhe nahi pata tha… Pehla delivery toh aaram se ho gaya, mujhe laga doosra bhi aise hi ho jayega toh mujhe nahi pata tha ki weight nahi uthana hai (I didn’t know… my first delivery was smooth, so I thought the second would be the same. I didn’t know I shouldn’t lift heavy things).”

Sunita and Govinda welcomed son Yashvardhan after this tragic loss. In an earlier interview, she also spoke about the troubles she faced during his birth. Sunita shared with YouTube channel Eat Travel Repeat and said, “When I was delivering my son Yash, I was 100 kg. I had gained a lot of weight. I thought I would die. Looking at me, Chi Chi (Govinda) started to cry. During those days, sex detection tests were legal. We knew we were having a son. I dramatically told the doctor, ‘Doctor, my husband wants a son. Please save the child; it is okay if I die in the process.’”
