Actor Gauahar Khan, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh, has opened up about how she would have been the ‘next ‘superstar if the film was released today. Gauahar also talked about Ranbir and added that he hasn’t still gotten his due as an actor.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Gauahar said, “If Rocket Singh had to release today, I think it would have been the biggest blockbuster with the kind of film it was, the kind of writing it had, and the kind of actors it had. It just came way ahead of its time, and at that time, the industry was not ready for a film like that. For a simple film that was so strong on paper and performances, it should have probably swept all the awards that year. I got a nomination, Best Supporting Actor, and I got one award as well.”

The actor added, “If it had released today, I would probably have been the next superstar to hit the market. But I also believe that everything happens for the best.”

Gauahar Khan was all praise for her Rocket Singh co-star Ranbir Kapoor and said that she is really happy for him. She said, “Ranbir Kapoor, I love him. I still feel like he hasn’t got his due as an actor. Look at what he did in Barfi. I think Barfi is his best film ever. I’m really happy for him because he’s finally getting the success he deserves, not just as an actor but also at the box office. I truly believe that he is a fantastic actor.”

Helmed by Shimit Amin, Rocket Singh was released in 2009.
