Farah Khan has worked with several actors as a director, but before she started her filmmaking career, she had already worked with the biggest superstars in Hindi cinema as a choreographer. She recently revealed that while shooting the song “Saajanji Ghar Aaye” from the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, actor Salman Khan would turn up on set only for a few hours, and half of the song was shot using his body double.

Farah shared this tidbit during a recent appearance on the dance reality show India’s Best Dancer, where Salman’s body double for the song, Rit, was also present. She said, “Rit ji bahut cute tha yaar. Main bata du Saajanji Ghar Aaye mein, Salman ka aadha gana Salman ka dupe banke Rit ji ne kiya hai. Really, kyunki Salman aata hi tha 2-3 ghante ke liye. To baki back shot, top shot, wide shot, sab Rit ji karta tha (Rit is very cute. Did you know he did half of Saajanji Ghar Aaye as Salman’s duplicate? Salman used to come only for two-three hours. So all the back shots, top shots, wide shots were done by Rit).”

In the film, Salman played the role of Aman, was set to marry Kajol’s character Anjali. The song “Saajanji Ghar Aaye” was set during their engagement. Earlier, actor Kubbra Sait had also shared an interesting anecdote about Salman from the shoot of the film Ready, in which she played the role of a house help. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kubbra said that during the shoot in Colombo, Salman arrived hours late for the film, and when he did, he called for lunch.

She said, “Salman Khan walks in, then he flexes his muscles and says ‘lunch break.’ Subha se sirf do apple khaye the maine socha ‘lunch he kar lete hai (I’d just eaten two apples all day, and even though I was wondering when work would start, I thought let’s eat).’ The beauty of working with Salman Khan is that you actually have one big table set up and he says ‘aapne khaya, tumne khaya?’ And this is why eating a meal with company is so important to me, because you cannot hold grudges. Phir set laga, humne shoot kiya.”
