Farah Khan recalls running around Abhishek Bachchan’s vanity van just to get him on Happy New Year set: ‘He was a naughty kid’
Farah Khan recalled Abhishek Bachchan behaving like a naughty kid on Happy New Year set.

Farah Khan hasn’t directed a film since 2014’s Happy New Year, but now, she has a career as a YouTuber and is quite regular with her vlogs. In her latest vlog, Farah met Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently promoting his film Be Happy, with the film’s director Remo D’souza. Farah recalled her memories of shooting Happy New Year with Abhishek.
Farah described Abhishek as a “naughty kid” who would make her run around on the set. He even made her run around his vanity van. As she chased him, he played hide and seek with her. Farah recalled this memory and asked Remo if he had ever had the same experience with him. Abhishek jumped in and reminded Farah that he did this only “because you needed the exercise.”
Abhishek also recalled a state dinner with the King of Morocco, where they had to follow certain protocol. They could not sit or start eating before the King, but Farah did not adhere to any of that. She even fell asleep on the table. Abhishek recalled that actors like Alan Rickman were also present at the dinner, and that he and Boman Irani tried to wake Farah up by throwing bread at her face.
Abhishek Bachchan’s latest release, Be Happy, is currently streaming on Prime Video. The actor only had one release in 2024, Shoojit Sircar’s I Want to Talk, which tanked at the box office. Before that, he was seen in R Balki’s Ghoomer, but that too did not impress his fans. He will next be seen in Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, among many others. His last theatrical hit was Housefull 3 in 2016. He was seen in Anurag Kashyap’s 2018 film Manmarziyaan with Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu and while the film did get some appreciation, it wasn’t a hit at the box office.
Apart from these theatrical releases, Abhishek has appeared in many streaming projects in the last few years – Dasvi, The Big Bull, Bob Biswas, Ludo and his web series Breathe: Into the Shadows.
