Aamir Khan has been making movies for almost 35 years now and has been through various highs and lows in his adventurous career. At a time when creators and producers are making content and films that can be consumed smoothly even when one is distracted, the quality of the content has dropped sharply. Known as ‘second screen viewing’, which basically means content that can be watched while one is scrolling on their phone, does not work with actors like Aamir and he said that he wouldn’t be comfortable making such content.

While speaking with Just Too Filmy, “I am not interested in second screen viewing. In today’s date, people think, ‘What should be make for theatres’, because they believe people only watch action in theatres. That if there is no big screen spectacle, I don’t have to watch it on big screen, I can also watch it in my phone or television. So these are the questions we will have to answer for ourselves.” He said that he has always made films he believes in because if that wasn’t the case, he wouldn’t have made films like Lagaan, or Rang De Basanti. He also shared that he was also advised to follow trends but he chose to follow his heart.

“Whatever doesn’t excite me, even if someone tells me it is a tried and tested concept and will go on to earn Rs 10,000 crore, I won’t make it. I won’t be able to make it because I won’t be interested in it,” he said and added that since the industry never understood his choices, and couldn’t figure out his patterns, they started calling him a “perfectionist.”
