Did Vishal Dadlani take a dig at Jasleen Royal’s performance at Coldplay concert? ‘How embarrassing for the country’
In his now-disappeared post, Vishal Dadlani wrote about how it is "embarrassing" for the country when a singer "can't really sing."

Playback singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani, known for his unabashed opinions, recently took to Instagram to criticize a “basic-to-bad” singer who performed before a large audience. In his now-disappeared post, Vishal wrote about how it is “embarrassing” for the country when a singer “can’t really sing.” While he did not name anyone specifically, fans speculated that his comments were aimed at Jasleen Royal, who recently opened for Coldplay during their concert in Mumbai.
Although Vishal’s Instagram story has since vanished from his account, it was shared on Reddit, where many users chimed in with their views. In his post, Vishal had written, “I’m really sorry, but when you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you’re doing is showing more people that the individual can’t really sing, and that sadly, systemds within labels in India aren’t geared towards really promoting the best we have. I’ve just seen some clips, and my gosh… How embarrassing! For the Country, the artiste, the public, as well as “the scene.”

Jasleen had shared videos of her performance with Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin on Instagram. Take a look:

Fans on Reddit were quick to interpret the post, with many believing he was referring to Jasleen Royal. One user commented, “Seems like he is referring to Jasleen Royal’s performance during Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai.”
Another fan echoed Vishal’s sentiment, stating, “I agree with his point. I mean, come on, Shreya was in the crowd, and she would have been perfect for the performance—or even Sunidhi. Compared to Elyana, Jasleen seemed so nervous, and her voice was shaky and even broke while singing. As he mentioned, it doesn’t reflect well on the reputation either.”
Meanwhile, several celebrities, including Shreya Ghoshal, Suhana Khan, Vijay Varma, Papon, Kusha Kapila and others, also attended the Coldplay concert. The band is set to perform in Mumbai again on Tuesday and in Ahmedabad on January 26.
