A day after a chaotic crowding at the main gate of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay which caused major traffic congestion on the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) due to large influx of students waiting to enter the Powai campus of the institute to attend its annual cultural festival – Mood Indigo– the institute administration on Wednesday declared that it has decided to disallow entry to all outsiders, except the participants of competitions for the rest of the two days of the four-day festivities.

The institute administration on Wednesday stated, “IIT-Bombay’s three-day annual cultural festival, Mood-Indigo, commenced on Tuesday. Students were expected to register for the festival events beforehand. Many students, however, turned up without prior registration and we had to turn them away from the gate. Spot registrations were not allowed.”

Further declaring its decision to disallow entry to all outsiders (except participants of various competitions and campus residents) for the rest of the two days of the event (December 17 and 18) the institute administration underlined that this is “in view of safety and traffic concerns.” It further stated, “All pre-registrations stand cancelled.”
