Dia’s friends from the film industry wished Samaira in the comments section. Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh dropped multiple hearts, while Sandhya Mridul wrote, “Happy happy Sam .. you show them girl”. Actor Ali Fazal wrote, “Happy birthday Samairaa!!”

Samaira is Dia’s husband Vaibhav Rekhi’s daughter from her previous marriage. Dia has always been supportive of Samaira’s choices. Last year, when they were spotted by the paparazzi, Samaira hid her face behind Dia. The actor requested the paparazzi to pause taking photographs until Samaira sits in the car. The cameramen obliged.

In an earlier interview with Zoom, Dia had spoken about her relationship with Samaira. She said, “I treat her as an individual, which she is. I think it is so important for a child to be loved and cared. But it is also so important for a child to be respected as an individual, and I do that with Samaira because my parents did that with me. I hate the term step-daughter. Because I never referred to my father as step-father. I had a step-father.”
