Actor and choreographer Dhanashree Verma has faced trolling and social media scrutiny following her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. While she has chosen to stay quiet amid the social media storm, in a recent interaction, she opened up about dealing with the backlash and how she is combating the false narrative by focusing on her work and presenting her best self to the public.
In a recent interaction with E Times, Dhanashree called the narratives circulating around her “far from the truth.” She admitted that she doesn’t clarify her stance because she is aware of her “values and her upbringing.” She said, “I’ve always believed in maintaining dignity and grace. Putting others down has never been my way, and it never helps anyone rise in life.”
Dhanashree insisted that she has been focused on her work and has always maintained good intentions. “Self-growth, self-love, and discipline have always guided me,” she said. While she firmly believes in her values, Dhanashree is also confident that “her truth will eventually speak for themselves.”
Dhanashree is slowly making a mark in the entertainment industry. She was recently seen in the song Ting Ling Sajna from Rajkummar Rao’s film Bhool Chuk Maaf and will also make her Telugu debut with Akasam Daati Vastaava. Leaving the past behind, she revealed that her focus is on bagging bigger and better projects.
However, when quizzed about giving love another chance, Dhanashree admitted that she isn’t averse to the idea but currently, her career takes priority. “Pyaar ki baat karein, toh you can’t plan these things… Aur agar naseeb mein achha likha hai (If it is written in my fate), then why not — who doesn’t want love in life?”
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma married in December 2020. The couple connected on social media during the pandemic and started dating before tying the knot. However, their relationship didn’t last long, and they filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025.
