Chhaava box office collection day 26: Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster hunts down Animal record after beating Gadar 2’s lifetime haul
Chhaava box office collection day 26: Vicky Kaushal's film drops on Tuesday but may regain momentum with Holi, totalling Rs 530.95 crore domestically.

While the debate surrounding the Hindi film industry’s struggles continues to gain prominence with each passing release, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has emerged as a saving grace. The film has become the first major blockbuster of 2025 and remains strong even in its fourth week of release. Although it had a promising weekend, the film did see a drop in collections during the weekdays. However, it is expected to regain momentum due to the Holi holiday.
By the end of its third week, Chhaava had earned Rs 84.05 crore at the domestic box office. This was followed by a highly successful weekend, witnessing a 91 percent increase in collections as it raked in Rs 16.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.75 crore on Sunday. After the weekend, the film saw a 44 percent drop in collections on Monday, earning Rs 6 crore. On Tuesday, the decline continued as it collected Rs 5.15 crore, according to Sacnilk. This brings Chhaava’s total domestic earnings to Rs 530.95 crore. On Tuesday, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.84 percent and Telugu occupancy of 15.12 percent.
The film had minted Rs 700 crore worldwide by Monday, and according to reports, its global collection reached Rs 712.5 crore by Tuesday. Chhaava has enjoyed an uninterrupted theatrical run so far, with no major film posing a threat to its box office performance. John Abraham’s The Diplomat is set to release in theatres on March 14, but the pre-release buzz does not indicate strong enough competition to significantly impact Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
Vicky Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava. On Tuesday, the actor paid tribute to the Maratha warrior, sharing a still from the film and writing, “11th March 1689- Sacrifice day of Shambhu Raje. Today, on the Punyatithi of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, I bow to the warrior who chose death over surrender, who stood tall in the face of unimaginable torture and who lived and died for his beliefs. Some roles stay with you forever, and playing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in #Chhaava has been one of them. His story is not just history – it is courage, sacrifice, and an undying spirit that still inspires millions. Zinda Rahey! Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji, Jai Sambhaji.”
