Chennai Express collects Rs 6.75 crore in paid previews

With this,the film beats the highest paid record of Rs. 2.7 crore that was held by <i>3 Idiots</i> till now.

Chennai Express,which officially releases today,had special paid previews on Thursday night (August 8) in many parts of India.

As expected,Chennai Express has collected a whopping Rs. 6.75 cr nett (India) from just paid previews on Thursday night.

With this,the film beats the highest paid record of Rs. 2.7 crore that was held by 3 Idiots till now.

However,the unique aspect about Chennai Express‘ paid previews was that,where certain big films have three-four shows in previews,Chennai Express had nearly 10-12 shows on Thursday night at major multiplex chains.

As today is a public holiday in India,it made sense to have maximum paid previews in multiplexes to pull crowd to the cinemas.
