HP has introduced the EliteBook X G2 Series, a new range of high-end business laptops designed to help professionals meet the increasing demands of AI-driven work. The series is positioned as HP’s most cutting-edge approach to intelligent, mobile computing for contemporary leaders and was unveiled ahead of the CES 2026 trade show, where the devices have been named Innovation Award Honourees.

The EliteBook X G2 portfolio is designed for users who rely on emerging technologies to translate directly into real productivity gains. HP says the devices combine next-generation AI performance, enterprise-grade security, and lightweight designs to support professionals working across locations and roles.

The launch comes at a time when workplace pressure continues to rise. According to HP’s latest Work Relationship Index, nearly two-thirds of desk-based workers report higher expectations than a year ago, yet only one in five say they maintain a healthy relationship with work.

Users are demanding faster performance and longer battery life without compromising as workloads increase and AI tools become more essential to daily tasks. HP believes the new EliteBook X G2 Series answers that need by embedding AI capabilities directly into the platform.

“Workers are being asked to do more, manage new tools, more data, and now AI without additional time,” said Guayente Sanmartin, Senior Vice-President and Division President, Commercial Systems & Displays Solutions at HP, in a press release. “The EliteBook X G2 Series is built to reduce that burden with technology that adapts to individual workstyles and supports AI-driven workflows.”

The series includes multiple configurations under a single platform, giving customers the option to choose between AMD, Intel, or Qualcomm processors for the first time. Models include the EliteBook X G2a with AMD Ryzen AI processors, the EliteBook X G2i with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, and the EliteBook X G2q with Snapdragon X2 Elite processors that provide up to 85 TOPS of NPU performance. Additionally, HP unveiled the EliteBook X Flip G2i, a device that can be used as a laptop, tablet, tent, or stand.

With HP Wolf Security for Business offering hardware-enforced, quantum-resistant protection that functions even when devices are offline, security continues to be a top priority. The laptops are also designed with serviceability in mind, featuring a new top-mount design intended to significantly cut keyboard replacement time and reduce IT workload.

Portability is a key selling point of these laptops, even when considering their advanced capabilities. Some models have high-resolution OLED display options, an all-day battery life, and weigh less than one kilogram. HP’s commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated by the EliteBook X G2 Series’ EPEAT Gold registration.

The laptops will be available in phases through early spring via HP.com, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch.
