Actor Bobby Deol opened up about his son Aryaman’s possible acting debut, and said that they are currently waiting for the right opportunity to launch him. He said that the times have changed drastically since the early 90s, when he made his debut. Bobby said that children of stars such as himself were given multiple opportunities to prove themselves, but the new generation has one shot. He cited the example of his nephews, Karan and Rajveer Deol, and said that being a part of a film family is no longer an advantage.

In an interview with ABP Live, Bobby was asked about his son, who has made a couple of public appearances with him so far, and drawn unanimous praise for his looks. Bobby appeared to be embarrassed as he accepted another compliment on his son’s behalf, and opened up about why the odds are against him. “I’m not launching him, but I’m waiting for someone who comes up with a great script for him. We’re waiting right now, and I’ve told my son to work hard on himself until then, because the times have changed. When I started, you still got a few chances to prove yourself and get better,” Bobby said.

Bobby agreed that being his son and Dharmendra’s grandson might help Aryaman bag his first project, but beyond that, he would need to prove himself as an actor. “There are so many actors whose kids have come and not succeeded. Usually, it’s the outsiders who’ve succeeded. My father was an outsider, and I was just blessed to be his son. But it’s your work that speaks for you, eventually. It hasn’t been a great outing for my brother’s sons either. Just because they’re Sunny Deol’s sons and Dharmendra’s grandsons doesn’t mean their career took off. They have to work hard, and they’re doing that.”

Sunny Deol’s older son, Karan, debuted with the film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which flopped at the box office. He starred in the movie with Sahher Bamba, who recently played the daughter of Bobby’s character in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Some years later, Sunny’s younger son, Rajveer, debuted with the film Dono, which flopped as well. In an interview with News18, Rajveer said that his brother was at an ‘all time low’ after his film flopped, and was happy that Rajveer was being launched by someone outside the Deol family. “I was prepping up so there was no discussion that my family was going to launch me. After Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass was released, I saw him going through his (Karan) all-time low. So my biggest challenge is having a fear of not earning it on your own and making it on your own. So when Dono happened, I am glad that they asked me to audition as I don’t want to feel that I am not worth it,” he said.
