Ananya Panday puts Karan Johar on the hot seat: Filmmaker reveals his most embarrassing movie, message he would send SRK from Salman Khan’s phone

Ananya also expressed her love for the filmmaker as she said, “Someone from the Indian Express’ team was telling me your parents have done such a good job raising you, but I was like, ‘I owe a lot of it to Karan.’ I am what I am because of you. I grew up wanting to be a Karan Johar heroine. I know all of your movies by heart and my biggest dream was to have the Dharma title song play before my films. I was lucky to have that in my first film and that was the only point I have ever cried. You are just the most selfless person I have ever come across, most honest. I don’t think you have an idea about how many people you have helped. i just want to thank you and we all just love you. There is no one like you Karan. All the love you got for Rocky Rani, you deserved that and you should make more movies. We love you Karan.”

   Who will Karan Johar 'date, marry, kill'?

   Following the format of Koffee with Karan, Ananya Panday asked Karan Johar to choose who would he 'date, marry, kill' from Rahul of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Ayan of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Rocky of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Karan opted to date Rahul and marry Rocky. He said he would ‘kill’ Ayan of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil since he kept begging for love throughout the film.

   If Karan Johar wakes up as Ananya Panday

   Ananya Panday began by asking Karan Johar what would he do if he woke up as her one morning. The filmmaker replied, "I would have left two films I did."

   Karan Johar names 'most boring' Koffee with Karan episode

   Ananya Panday asked the host of popular talk show, Koffee with Karan, to name the one episode that he thought was the most boring. Reluctant to answer the question, Karan finally said, "It was Richard Gere. At one point, I thought I was going to pass out. It got very intense. He was the first Hollywood celebrity we had. I hope I never meet him and he never sees this. It was deathly boring.”

   'Dream Girl' of Karan Johar

   Plugging in her upcoming release, Dream Girl 2, Ananya quizzed Karan about the last girl he dreamt of. The filmmaker replied, "I dreamt of Rani Mukerji. She spoke to me so much about us and the past, we had a nostalgic chat at the Melbourne Film Festival. Suddenly I was imagining her and I having coffee on some mountaintop discussing something. I was in a yellow sweater and she was in a saree, I don't know why. That girl was in my dream."

   When it was 'Death of Self Importance' for Karan Johar

   Ananya asked Karan what would be more embarrassing for him, "You are at a public event and no one asks you for a selfie or you get mobbed because people think you are some other celebrity." Karan said it would be better if nobody asked for a selfie. He also opened up about the times when people failed to recognise him. Once someone asked him if he was Rajkumar Santoshi. Talking about another instance, Karan said, "I was walking very fast at my hotel to catch a flight and there was a couple I could see in my vicinity looking at me very excitedly. I was rushing so I knew they wanted a photograph. And, I walked towards them and said, 'Yes sir, very quickly.' He very quickly gave me the camera and posed. They were just looking for an Indian face who could just take their photograph. I was so flummoxed. They had no idea who I was. That's what you call the death of self-importance."

   Karan Johar lists most-underrated Bollywood films and actors

   Karan Johar feels there are 'gazillion' films that are underrated. Some that he named included Ijaazat (1987) and Ghar (1978). Naming the actor he feels is underrated, Karan said, "Tanuja was an absolutely outstanding artiste. She was rated beautifully but I feel there was so much more..she is my all-time favourite."

   Alternate ending to Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

   Ananya Panday asked Karan Johar which of his film's climax would he like to change and to what. The director responded, "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. To they don't end up happily. I would like to change a few things in that film." Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna featured Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. In the film's climax, Shah Rukh and Rani's characters end up together after cheating on their respective partners.

   Funniest thing Karan Johar's kids have said to him

   Karan Johar shared that once his daughter Roohi compared him to the animated cartoon Peppa Pig. When Ananya asked him about the funniest thing his kids have told him, the director said, "My daughter thought I was looking like Peppa Pig." The sweetest thing that they like to say is, "I love you to the moon and back."

   Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to star in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani remake

   Ananya Panday asked Karan whom he’d cast in Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi’s roles if he were to remake Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani 35 years from now. Without giving it a thought, Karan replied, “Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.”

    If Karan Johar was Salman Khan, he would...

    Ananya Panday asked Karan Johar that if, hypothetically, he was Salman Khan, whom would he message and what? Karan replied, "I would message Shah Rukh (Khan) and say that it's just us." In SRK's last film Pathaan, he, along with Salman Khan, had said that there's no young actor in the industry who can improve the current state of the film industry and they will only have to do it.
