The writer of Ram Gopal Varma’s 2005 film Sarkar, Manish Gupta recently shared his experience of working with Amitabh Bachchan. Gupta praised Amitabh’s dedication and professionalism on set, echoing the sentiments of many others who have worked with the legendary actor. Gupta also revealed that Amitabh remains invested and concerned about his son Abhishek Bachchan’s career even at this age.

In an interview with Times of India, Gupta said that working with senior Bachchan was a remarkable experience and added that ‘he is the epitome of professionalism.’  He shared that while rehearsing for Sarkar, he used to correct Amitabh when he didn’t say the words written by him. However, Amitabh would ‘politely’ clarify that those words were not appropriate for Sarkar’s character, as they were from Urdu and instead used ‘conventional’ Hindi words.

Gupta also mentioned that they wrapped up all the scenes of Amitabh in Sarkar in just nine days since the actor does not interfere with the director’s work and follows all instructions. He further stated that the entire film was shot within a total of 55 days.

I was surprised that he wanted to shoot again, as that’s not how he works. It was only when I asked him what went wrong did he tell me it was done on Amitabh ji’s suggestion.”
