Manoj Bajpayee says Amitabh Bachchan almost killed him: He gave me a heart attack at 85 feet, said, ‘Tell Jaya if something happens to me’

In one of the KBC 17 promos, the host introduced the entire team and welcomed them on the stage. The trio touched the veteran superstar’s feet before taking over the hot seat. “KBC started at the time of Aks. The era changed and so did the industry, but Amit ji hasn’t changed,” Manoj said. “When I said your name, they clapped so loudly. Even if I come running inside, they don’t clap so loudly and excitedly,” Amitabh mentioned, leaving the audience burst into laughter.

Manoj Bajpayee gives Big B’s dialogue a twist

“We are standing in the same line which you started,” said Jaideep while praising him. Later in the video, the Satya actor spoke a iconic dialogue from Big B’s 1995 film Deewaar in Bhojpuri language. “Ae Peter, te ohne khoje hamare ke, hum ae ne baithal bane,” he said, roughly meaning, “Peter, you are looking for me there, I am sitting right here.”

On the other hand, Jaideep said a dialogue in Harayanvi language, from the superstar’s film Don and Sharib chose Deewar’s dialogue in his typical Mumbaikar aura. Adding his own style to the mix, Amitabh delivered another dialogue from Zanzeer in Bhojpuri. “Ae dekha lalva, jha Khade ho vha tareke se khade raho, ae Police station hain jano, tohre baap ka ghar nahi hain.”

‘Amitabh Bachchan almost killed me’

Another teaser video showed Manoj revealing a story to Jaideep and Sharib about his encounter with Amitabh Bachchan that almost killed him. “Amit ji almost killed me once. I would have had a heart attack because of Amit ji. Poora plan kia gaya tha mujhe upar leke jaane ke lie (The whole thing was planned to kill me). I was speechless after what he said. Inhone meri jaan le li thi (he took my life),” he shared. “Jo sachaai hai bolne dijiye (Please say what the truth is),” the host replied.

Earlier, in an appearance on The Kapil Sharm Show in 2022, Manoj had opened up about the anecdote from the shoot of his film Aks with Amitabh. He said he was extremely nervous about doing a stunt where they were to jump through a waterfall as he has a fear of heights. Hence, the action director asked Bajpayee to close his eyes, and that Bachchan would be there with him holding his hand. When they were around 80-85 feet up, Amitabh shouted Bajpayee’s name and pranked him by saying that he should tell his family something if anything happened to him during the stunt. This made the actor even more stressed and he panicked, and he told the veteran actor that he was already scared, could have led to a heart attack. 

Sony TV dropped the teasers of the upcoming episode with several short videos, and wroe, “Dekhiye ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ iss Friday raat 9 baje sirf #SonyEntertainmentTelevision and Sony LIV par.” Kaun Banega Crorepati is currently in its 17th season. The upcoming episode featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi, and Jaideep Ahlawat will air on Sony LIV and Sony TV, this Friday, at 9 pm.

Meanwhile, their series The Family Man season 3 also stars Priyamani, Ashlesha Thakur, Vedant Sinha, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Gul Panag. The third season has been written by Raj & DK and Suman Kumar, with Sumit Arora’s dialogues. The web show is helmed by Raj & DK, along with Suman Kumar and Tusshar Seyth as co-directors.
