Ricky Kej accuses Zomato delivery partner of theftKej claims the entire sequence was captured by security cameras installed at his residence

Grammy-winning artist Ricky Kej has accused a Zomato delivery partner of unlawfully entering his Bengaluru home and stealing a sump cover, an incident he says was clearly recorded on his home’s CCTV cameras. Kej brought the matter into the public eye by posting about it on X and tagging both the food delivery company and the city police.

Sharing his account online, Kej wrote, “I was robbed! Dear @zomato @zomatocare, looks like one of your drivers entered my home on Thursday and stole our sump-cover. This was at 6 o’clock in the evening.. Quite bold of them! This is probably not their first time. They came in just 15 min earlier for a recce, and then trespassed and committed the crime.”

According to the musician, the person allegedly first assessed the property before returning shortly after to carry out the theft. He claimed the entire sequence was captured by security cameras installed at his residence. Emphasising the clarity of the evidence, Kej added, “You can see the CCTV footage from 2 angles. Also screenshots of his face, and the number plate.”

The post quickly spread across social media, drawing reactions from users who voiced concern and demanded accountability if the claims were confirmed.

Responding publicly, Zomato acknowledged the complaint and said it would look into the matter. The company posted, “Hi Ricky, this is really concerning, and we certainly don’t encourage such behaviour from our delivery partners. We’ll investigate this immediately so that necessary action can be taken, and we’d request you to kindly share your mobile number with us via DM so we can connect with you further.”
