Pahalgam terror attack update: Terrorists opened fire at a famed meadow near Kashmir’s Pahalgam town on Tuesday afternoon, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, in what is the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019. The 26 dead in the Pahalgam terror attack included two foreigners and two locals.
Not only politicians, but film celebrities also took to social media to condemn the horrific attack. Akshay Kumar wrote on X, “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families. (Folded hands emoji).” Vicky Kaushal posted on Instagram Stories, “Can’t imagine the pain of the family members of those who lost their loved ones in the absolute inhumane act of terrorism in Pahalgam. My deepest condolences and prayers. Hope the culprits behind this heinous act are brought to justice (heartbreak and folded hands emojis).”
Pushpa star Allu Arjun also expressed his anguish on X. “Soo heart broken by #Pahalgam Attack . Such a beautiful place with kind hearted people . Condolences to all the families, near and dear of the victims. May their innocent souls rest in peace. Truly Heart breaking,” he wrote.
His fellow Telugu superstar Nani was shocked at the turn of events and recalled how his film crew considered Pahalgam a “dream” while shooting there earlier this year. “Three months back we were there. Over 200 people team for almost 20 days. Pahalgam Was like a dream. The place, the people and the warmth. Heart broken and speechless. Why?,” wrote Nani on X.
Sunny Deol wrote in Hindi on X, translated as: “At this time, the world’s thinking should solely be about ending terrorism because its victims are only innocent people, and humans need to look within themselves. In this hour of sorrow, I stand with the affected families. #PahalgamTerroristAttack.” On Tuesday evening, YouTuber Samay Raina also shared a post on the Pahalgam terror attack on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Unable to sleep tonight.”
Kareena Kapoor also took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Beyond heartbroken for the victims and their families. Praying for the lives lost (heartbreak emoji). #Pahalgam.” Sidharth Malhotra also posted on Instagram Stories, “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is a cowardly act. I have full faith in our armed forces and I’m sure they will do the needful and ensure justice. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of the innocent victims. Jai Hind!”
Suniel Shetty wrote on X, “Deeply disturbed by the cowardly attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Violence against innocent visitors is an attack on the soul of Kashmir and its centuries-old legacy of hospitality. Prayers for the injured. Let us stand united in condemning such brutality and demand swift justice. The perpetrators must face the full force of the law.” Anupam Kher shared a selfie video on social media with the caption, “Wrong. Wrong. Wrong!! Pahalgam massacre! Words are incompetent today!! (Heartbreak emoji) #Pahalgam.”
Vir Das wrote on X, “We must unconditionally unite as Indians and stand with Kashmir, its victims, and our troops.” Aly Goni posted on X, “I’m Heartbroken (heartbreak emoji) and enraged by the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam today. This senseless violence against innocent lives contradicts the peace Islam teaches. My prayers are with the victims and their families. We must unite against such evil.”
