Wrong questions asked in WBJEE 2020, claim students and teachers

Students who appeared for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2020) alleged some questions in the mathematics section had wrong options as the answers given in the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) did not match the question.

The answers provided for two questions in category 1 were incorrect, claimed some students. In set D, question number 31 of trigonometry and question number 43 of coordinate geometry were wrong, as per students and teachers.

WBJEE 2020: ‘Paper follows the pattern of JEE Main’

The students rated the paper as moderate, with the question pattern following the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).

Aishwarya Banerjee, a WBJEE aspirant, said the questions in Physics and Mathematics followed the standard of JEE Main, covering the whole syllabus. “I appeared for the JEE Main in January, and the questions in WBJEE were at par with that entrance examination. The questions in Physics especially followed the pattern of JEE Main, followed by Mathematics and Chemistry.”

WBJEE 2020: Students found Maths tough

Over a lakh candidates appeared for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE 2020) that was conducted on Sunday, February 2, 2020. The paper 1 for Mathematics just concluded and students rated it as difficult.

Aishwarya Banerjee, a WBJEE aspirant said that the Mathematics paper was tougher than compared to last year. “The paper has lots of conceptual based questions, with section B a little bit tough and lengthy as the questions were application-based,” the student said.

WBJEE 2020: Paper two begins

The paper 2 for Physics and Chemistry will be conducted between 2 to 4 pm. This year, the entrance examination is being conducted earlier on the directions of state governments to increase the number of students in state engineering colleges.

According to students, the Mathematics paper was quite tough. Aishwarya Banerjee, a WBJEE aspirant said that the Mathematics paper was tougher compared tp last year. "The paper has lots of conceptual based qurestions, with section B a little bit tough and lengthy as the questions were application based," the student said.

Paper pattern of WBJEE 2020

The paper will contain 155 multiple choice questions of 200 marks. In paper 1 for Mathematics, there will be a total of 75 questions of 100 marks, while 40 questions each in Mathematics and Chemistry.

WBJEE 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: Check paper analysis, students' reactions

WBJEE 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: The students who will clear the examinations will get an admission to Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy degree courses in universities, colleges in the state of West Bengal. Last year, nearly 1.25 lakh students had registered for the entrance exam and around 36 per cent of the applicants were from outside Bengal. The result was declared in June and around 80 per cent of the students had cleared the exam successfully.
