Shubh Chapra of Mahoba topped UP Board Class 12 exam (Graphics by Abhishek Mitra) Shubh Chapra, who stood first in the UP Board class 12 examination, says he couldn’t believe that he had outscored 25.71 lakh students who appeared for the examination earlier this year.
A student of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College in Mahoba district, Shubh has scored 489 marks out of 500. Shubh has scored the highest marks in Mathematics with a score of 95 out of 100. He has scored in the nineties in all subjects except Social Science in which he has scored 89 out of 100.
Shubh’s father Surendra Chapra owns a shop that sells wall paints in Mahoba, and his two elder brothers are teachers.
Shubh says he wants to become an IAS officer and will start working on the dream to become a civil servant soon. “It has been my dream to become an IAS officer. I am very happy with the results for class 12, and this will inspire me to work harder for my dream to become a civil servant. I want to serve our society,” said Shubh on Tuesday, while he was surrounded by journalists and local politicians.
Shubh says he used to study for six-seven hours a day, and his focus was also on revising what he studied. “Studying is one thing, but revision is more important, I feel,” he said.
“While I used course books, I would also sometimes take the help of Google for studying beyond the syllabus for better understanding,” he said.
“I m grateful to my teachers, parents and family members for their support,” he added.
