UGC NET June 2024 registration begins at ugcnet.nta.ac.in, application ends on May 10

UGC NET June 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 session. Interested candidates can apply at the official UGC NET website — ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The UGC NET examination is scheduled from June 10 to June 21.

The last date for NET application is May 10, while the last date for submission of the examination fee through online mode is from May 11 to May 12, 2024. The Agency will also open a correction window on May 13 and will close on May 15.  The exam center city and details will be announced after the registration is completed.

UGC NET June 2024: Exam dates

In accordance with the official notification, the examination will be conducted from June 16 for ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ and eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ and admission to Ph.D in 83 subjects in OMR (Pen and Paper), mode. The announcement for the exam city slip, admit cards, along with center, date, shift will be intimated later by the Agency.

UGC NET June 2024: Application fee

The application fee for general unreserved categories is Rs 1150, for general-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, the fee is Rs 600 and third gender and SC, ST, PwD, the application fee is Rs 325.

Step 2: Then click on the registration link on the homepage

Step 3: Fill the application form and pay application fee

Step 4: Click on submit option to complete the application process

What is new in UGC NET 2024?

The candidates who are pursuing four year/8 semester bachelor’s degree programme and are in their last semester/year can also apply. “The candidates having passed a four-year or eight-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75 pc marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed,” the UGC chairman said.

“The candidates with four-year undergraduate degrees can now directly pursue PhD and appear for NET. Such candidates are allowed to appear in a subject in which they want to pursue a PhD irrespective of the discipline in which they have obtained the four-year bachelor’s degree,” UGC chief told new agency, PTI.

A relaxation of five per cent marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), differently-abled, economically weaker sections and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, he added.

The NET will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in multiple shifts. The test consists of two papers having objective type questions. Candidates gets three hours for both papers to complete 150 questions.
