Eighteen-year-old Arnav Singh cracked the JEE Main 2025 exam in his first attempt. Even before appearing for the CBSE Class 12 board examination, Singh cleared the engineering entrance exam and will also appear for the April session to practice for the JEE Advanced 2025.

Arnav’s family originally belonged to Bihar and moved to Kota, Rajasthan as his father joined Allen Institute as a teacher. The topper’s father is an IIT Delhi graduate from the 2003 batch (civil engineering).

It was his family background that motivated him to pursue engineering. His father told indianexpress.com, “Arnav wants admission to IIT Bombay in computer science engineering. Many friends of Arnav influenced him to pursue engineering at IIT Bombay, ” said Ajeey Singh.

Arnav took his coaching from Allen and did not follow any strict routine for preparation. “Till Class 10, he used to religiously follow the syllabus and focused on the clarity of concepts,” said his father.

Apart from JEE preparation, Arnav also focused on his mental health and avoided the rat race for marks. “On the eve of the exam, he played table tennis with his younger brother for 30 minutes to calm himself. I believe this way he was more productive and was able to release the pressure that exam creates,” he said.

Arnav made sports not just only a part of the day but also part of his JEE preparation. His father Ajeet told informed that every day he along with his both sons played cricket. “We believe that due to sports he was able to manage his preparation well and used to stay calm. I would call sports the key factor for his JEE Main 2025 success,” he said.

He also participated in various Olympiads like IOQM, RMO, INMO and IMO but fell short of reaching international levels. This year, he has appeared in the Physics and Chemistry Olympiads and has cleared round one.
