The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examinations (TBJEE) Monday announced results of the medical and engineering examinations.
This year, a total of 5636 candidates appeared in the state-conducted joint entrance examinations, out of which 2606 candidates appeared for PCM (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics) group and 4689 candidates appeared for the PCB (Physics Chemistry and Biology) group.
Out of the 2606 PCM candidates, 1461 were boys and 1145 were girls. In the PCB group, a total of 3198 boys appeared for the exam and 1491 were girl candidates.
In PCM group, Dipayan Karmakar secured first position while the second and third positions were secured by Ayushman Saha and Uday Saha. Rajdipa Sutradhar topped in PCB group, while Ayushmita Das and Maari Debbarma secured second and third positions.
Dipayan Karmakar, the PCM topper this year, said that he desires to become a doctor. Dipayan also secured the fifth position in PCB group. “I want to give credit for my success to my mother first, then my father and teachers. I had also appeared for the NEET and other joint entrance examinations,” he told The Indian Express. He suggested his juniors to focus only on concerned books and previous year’s questions.
The TBJEE conducted the joint entrance examinations on April 25.
“The examinations were conducted at total of 15 centres. We are supposed to begin the counselling session within a week. The session will start with registration process where candidates will enrol their names,” TBJEE chairman Dr Raja Chakrabarti said.
