MSBSHSE Maharashtra Board Class 12th Result 2024: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on May 21 announced the HSC result 2024. The Maharashtra Class 12 scorecards are available at the official websites — mahresult.nic.in, hscresult.mkcl.org, mahahsscboard.in and results.digilocker.gov.in.
The MSBSHSE Class 12 exams were held between February 21 and March 19, 2024 in the offline mode. Candidates have to enter the correct registration number/ roll number and password to check the scorecard.
This year, overall 91.87 per cent students passed of which 93.37% students passed the Maharashtra HSC exams under the fresh category. There is a 2.12 per cent increase in overall passing percentage compared to last year’s 91.25%.
As many as 15,20,181 registered for the HSC exam of which 15,09,848 appeared while 13,87,135 passed.
A total of 95.44 girls passed while boys scored 91.60%. The passing percentage for physically challenged students is 94%.
Among the 9 districts, the Konkan (97.51) division tops while the Mumbai division has the lowest passing percentage (91.95%). A total of 26 subjects show 100 per cent result.
A physically challenged student from Maharashtra’s Latur district, who wrote the Class 12 examination with his feet, overcame hurdles to score 78 per cent marks and is determined to become an IAS officer.
Born without arms, Gaus Shaikh, a student in the Science stream, refused to take the help of an exam scribe and wrote with his toes during the examination for the Higher Secondary Certificate conducted in March.
Hailing from a small village, the 17-year-old completed his schooling at Renukadevi Higher Secondary Ashram School in Vasantnagar Tanda, where his father works as a peon. “Gaus started writing numbers and letters when he was four. His primary teachers got him to practise writing with his toes. He appears for exam papers just like other students within the duration. He takes care of all his work,” said his father, Amjad.
Talking to PTI, Gaus said, “Since childhood, I have dreamt of serving my country, which is why I want to become an IAS officer.”
Students will be required to get a minimum of 33 per cent marks in each subject and in aggregate in the Maharashtra board HSC exam 2024 to be declared pass.
The overall pass percentage for the science stream has been recorded at 97.82 per cent. Of the 7,27,386 students registering for the exam, as many as 7,25,077 students appeared and 7,09,314 students passed the exam.
The overall pass percentage for the arts stream has been recorded at 85.88 per cent. Of the 3,56,059 students registering for the exam, as many as 3,51,145 students appeared and 3,01,566 students passed the exam.
In the commerce stream, the overall pass percentage has been recorded at 92.18 per cent. Of the 3,09,256 students registering for the exam, as many as 3,07,878 students appeared and 2,83,818 students passed the exam.
In the vocational stream, the overall pass percentage has been recorded at 87.75 per cent. Of the 35,849 students registering for the exam, as many as 35,106 students appeared and 30,808 students passed the exam.
In ITI, the overall pass percentage has been recorded at 87.69 per cent. Of the 4,821 students registering for the exam, as many as 4,764 students appeared and 4,178 students passed the exam.
Among the private and repeater candidates, of the 41,362 and 45,448 students respectively registering for the Maharashtra HSC exams, as many as 40,795 and 45,083 students have appeared respectively. The passing percentage in private in 85.76 per cent and in repeaters, it is 49.82 per cent.
Students can check their results by entering their roll number or registration number, email id and his or her name. The result will be displayed on the screen and the students can save the result for future reference.
Out of total 1329684 fresh candidates who passed the HSC exam, 190570 scored 75% and above, 480631 scored 60% and above and 526425 scored 45% and above.

As per the data shared by MSBSHSE, a total of 15,13,909 candidates have registered for the HSC examination in the state this year. It includes 8,21,450 boys and 6,92,424 girls. With 7,60,046 students, the science stream has the highest number of candidates registered for the HSC exam, this is followed by 3,81,982 students in the Arts stream and 3,29,905 candidates in the Commerce stream.
Last year, in the Science stream 96.09 per cent which was the highest among all streams, followed by Arts 84.05 per cent and Commerce: 90.42 per cent. The pass percentage in Maharashtra HSC result 2023 was 91.25 per cent, less than 2022’s 94.22 per cent and girls record better pass percentage with 93.25 per cent.
A good number of schools in each division scored 100 per cent result in 2023 like Pune-1240, Nagpur-709, Aurangabad 644, Mumbai – 979, Kolhapur 1089, Amravati – 652, Latur – 383, Konkan – 427, Nashik 652.
