IIT-JEE: JoSAA Counselling 2024 schedule out; mock seat allotment today

JoSAA Counselling 2024: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling dates are announced. There will be five rounds with one extra round for NIT+ systems only. While the pre-payment of the JoSAA seat acceptance fee will start on June 9, display of mock seat allotment will be made on June 10.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will release the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 on June 9. The shortlisted candidates will have to undergo the JoSAA 2024 counselling process to obtain a seat at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information and Technology (IIITs) and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs).

Eligible candidates will have to register and fill in their choices for institute and course, they will be allotted the same as per their rank. Earlier, JoSAA counselling was jointly conducted by NIT Rourkela, however this year the authority has not shared any update on this. Students can register on the official website— josaa.nic.in.

JoSAA Counselling 2024: How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website— josaa.nic.in

Step 2: Click on the registration link given on the website

Step 3: Enter your credentials such as JEE Main application number and date of birth

Step 4: Complete the choice filing process

Step 5: Review and lock the filled-in choices

The counselling process takes place when candidates lock in their choices and then the authority releases two mock seat allocation before reconciliation of data, verification, and validation of allocated seats.

Candidates have an option to withdraw or exit from the seat allocation process. Last year, six rounds of counselling were conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority.
