The ceremony comes a month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Dhwajarohan ceremony at the main temple on November 25. Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra
The second anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla will be celebrated on New Year’s Eve at the Ram Mandir, with flag-hoisting ceremonies planned on the spires of seven sub-temples in the temple complex as well. The dignitaries are likely to include Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, President of India Draupadi Murmu and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it is learnt.
Sources said an invite has been sent to Singh, but there is no confirmation on his attendance. The Union Minister has not been part of the temple events in the past.
Sources said the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is preparing to commemorate the second anniversary of the first pran pratistha and hoist the dharma dhwaja on the seven sub-temples of of Shiv, Ganesha, Hanuman, Surya, Goddess Bhagwati, Annapurna and Sheshavatar on December 31.
This ceremony comes over a month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Dhwajarohan ceremony at the main temple on November 25, symbolising the completion of its construction.
Sources said a discussion on the ceremony would take place at the Trust’s meeting on Saturday; the Trust is also planning three- to five-day events — including recitation of path, mantras and cultural events.
The seven temples are finished but await a formal completion ceremony.
Initially, flag hoisting at these temples was scheduled for November 25. However, sources said due to the complexity involved in hoisting the main Ram Temple dharma dhwaja, it was decided to conduct only one ceremony that day.

Sources said to hoist the dharma dhwaja at the main mandir, a week of continuous rehearsals had been carried out, considering the weight, height, and the precise angle needed for the flag to rise smoothly at the push of a button without any obstruction.
The Ram Mandir has seen three celebrations since the Boomi Pujan on August 5, 2020.
On January 22, 2024, the pran pratistha ceremony for installation of the idol of Ram Lalla on the ground floor was carried out. This was led by the PM.
June 5, 2025, saw the second pran pratistha ceremony for installation of the Ram Darbar on the first floor (depicting Lord Ram in his king form) led by the UP CM.

The events on November 25 marked the end of the main temple’s construction.
Why are the events being planned on December 31?
The first pran pratishtha took place on January 22, 2024. As per the Hindu lunar calendar, it had taken place on ‘Shukla Paksha Dwadashi’ — the 12th day of the waxing phase of the lunar month of Pausha in the Hindu calendar.
Ceremonies to mark the first anniversary, and now the second, are planned to coincide with ‘Shukla Paksha Dwadashi’.
