JEE Advanced 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee ( IIT R) is one of India’s premier institutions for engineering and technology education. It offers bachelor’s degree courses in 10 disciplines of Engineering and Architecture and masters degree in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Applied Science, Architecture and Planning.

The institute also has a facility for doctoral work in all departments and research centres. Students are admitted on the basis of their JEE score.

This year, IIT-Roorkee has improved its ranking across all parameters and continued to be the best college for Architecture. The college has also been ranked fifth in the newly added innovation category.

It has maintained its rank in the QS World University Rankings 2024. However, it did not participate in THE World University Rankings as it has boycotted it along with five other IITs over the issue of transparency of ranking parameters.

Established as Thomason College of Engineering in 1847, IIT Roorkee has completed nearly 175 years of existence. Over the years, it became the University of Roorkee and was converted into an IIT on September 21, 2001.
