The Gujarat Board had announced the results for the Science stream students in the first week of May, in which the pass percentage has dropped to 65.58 per cent this time from last year’s 72.02 per cent. This time, a total of 488 students from group A and 781 students from group B scored above 99 percentile.
However, the Board has not yet announced the result dates for Arts and Commerce stream. Till the Board issues an update on the result dates, let’s take a look at how the scores have been in the past.
Due to Covid, in 2021, the state government decided to cancel the board exams after the CBSE class 12 board exams for the academic year 2020-2021 were scrapped by the Central Government. GSEB devised special evaluation criteria for calculating the class 12 results. The ratio was divided into 50:25:25 respectively for class 12 HSC results. A total of 4,00,127 students were evaluated, of which, nearly 6,000 students got additional grace marks under mass promotion. 5,885 students got E1 grade — which is 32-21 marks — and 28 students got under E2 grade (20 marks and below).
In 2020, the pass percentage reached 76.29 per cent, which was an increase of 3.02 per cent from last year’s 73.27 per cent. Girls fared better than boys, as 82.20 per cent female students cleared the HSC exam successfully, the pass percentage of boys is 70.97 per cent. Patan was the best performing district with 86.27 per cent while the worst performing district was Panchmahal with 64.76 per cent of students from the region clearing the exam. In 2020, evaluation process for the Gujarat Board exams was resumed in April-mid after being cancelled once due to the Covid lockdown.
