IIT Hyderabad is ranked between 691-700 in 2024 according to the QS world university rankings.(Image Credit: iith.ac.in) IIT Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is a second generation IIT. Over the last five years, the institute has ranked within the top 10 in the engineering category as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework. The overall position of IIT Hyderabad has improved too in the last 5 years.
Earlier, it was on 22 rank in 2022 but in 2023, it has gone up to rank 14. The research ranking of the institute was at the 15th position in 2021 while in 2023 it jumped to rank 14. In the newly launched innovation category, it bagged the third place.

IIT Hyderabad slipped by over 100 ranks in the QS world university rankings. From ranking 581 to 590 bands to 691 to 700 this year. The institute also featured in THE world rankings in 2021, 2020 and 2019 in the 601 to 800 band but in the last two years, it hasn’t featured on the list.

IIT Hyderabad was established in 2008. It offers programmes at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. It offers BTech and BDes programmes at the UG level and MTech, MDes, MSc and MA programmes at the PG level. It has 12 engineering departments, 3 science departments one each department for liberal arts, management and design.
