The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday reiterated that students of class 10 who have studied Mathematics Standard (041) can offer Mathematics (041) in class 11. "In case, the students who offered Mathematics Basic (241) in class 10 are allowed to offer only Applied Mathematics in class 11," the official notice added. In the past, the Central Board had given an exemption to offer Mathematics (041 ) in class 11 / 12 to the students who offered Mathematics (Basic) in class 10 because of Covid pandemic. Now, the board has proposed a few changes. The relaxation in this rule will continue for the academic session 2024 -25 only. This means that the students who offered Mathematics Basic (241) are also allowed to offer Mathematics (041) in class 11. The Board also instructed the schools that before permitting Mathematics (041) in class 11 to such students, the head of the school should satisfy that the students are having the aptitude and ability to pursue Mathematics (041) in class 11. "However, it has also been decided for the students of Class X of 2024-2025 sessions that once, subjects were filled in by them in LOC, no change in the offered/filled in subject(s) will be allowed and the policy dated 10th January, 2019 will be strictly followed," the official notice added. Meanwhile, students are waiting for class 10 and 12 results for the exams conducted in 2023. Class 10 and 12 results will likely be announced after May 20, as per a message posted on the official website — cbseresults.nic.in. However, there is no official confirmation of the result declaration date and time on the official - cbse.gov.in.
