Meet the toppers
Among the toppers from non-engineering background is Kumar Sai Vishnu (20), Visakhapatnam. In CAT 2022, he scored 95.6 percentile.
After scoring 100 percentile, he is confident of getting a seat in IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore or Calcutta. “Every morning, I used to read at least one article on the Internet, which would be related to some topic of the CAT syllabus. This helped me stay updated,” he told The Indian Express.
This time, the majority of the toppers are from Maharashtra — four from the state scored 100 percentile, nine achieved 99.99 percentile and eight got 99.98 percentile. There is one topper each from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala; two toppers are from Telangana. This year too male candidates dominated the top ranks. Among the 72 candidates who secured the top three ranks only one is a female.
