BJP leader Aparajita Sarangi posted an interesting photo on her social media handles on Thursday. A member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) — one of the most significant parliamentary panels that audits the revenue and expenditure of the government – Aparajita attended the PAC meeting earlier in the day. “In the company of Men… With esteemed members of the Public Accounts Committee today. It is my privilege to be part of this prestigious parliamentary committee. Grateful,” wrote Sarangi, the only woman in the 22-member committee, alongside the photograph of her standing with the other members. The PAC has 15 MPs from Lok Sabha and seven from the Rajya Sabha.

Fitness Goals

Officials at the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying celebrated the National Sports Day in a unique way. They took a pledge to make physical activity and sports an integral part of their daily life. The pledge was administered by MoS, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying S P Singh Baghel. Thereafter, the officials participated in a walkathon. Alka Upadhyay, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, was among the officials who participated in the event.

Capping It Off

ITBP Director General Rahul Rasgotra has approved a “side cap” for all retired personnel (Himveer) of the force after it was observed that there was no formal cap for the veterans to give them a distinct identification in formal functions and public gatherings. The side cap was proposed and designed by one IG-rank officer who showed it to DG Rasgotra, who in turn approved it and requested the retirees to wear it “on different occasions along with miniature medals with complete uniformity”. The ITBP has issued an order and is circulating it through different social media modes so that everyone gets aware of the new addition for the recognition of veterans in formal functions.
