‘Will fight polls on development plank’

“We have undertaken more development work and completed most of them than what the previous Congress regime have done,” he asserted.

Clarifying that 2011 was not being observed as “Year of Development” as the Congress leaders were misleading the masses,the Deputy CM said most of the mega infrastructure development projects initiated by the present regime will either complete or reach advanced stage next year when the development undertaken during the present regime will start becoming visible.

“We have been involved in the all round development of the state ever since we came tpo power in 2007 and will continue with the same till the end of our present five-year tenure,” he said.

Capt Amarinder had on Sunday criticised the state government for reportedly observing 2011 as “Year of Development” while accusing that the SAD-BJP combine of neglecting development over the three years. “Now that their tenure was nearing completion,they are focusing on development of the stae,” the Captain said.

“We have excelled in every field,be it power,roads,bridges,civil aviation or infrastructure. Whereas the previous Congress governments had done nothing for the development and welfare of the state,” Sukhbir said.

Announcing that the Akali Dal will contest the next Punjab Assembly elections on the plank of its performance and development,Sukhbir expressed confidence that they will easily return back to power since the Congress had failed to deliver in the past.
