Six-year itch
Weve known directors who take a couple of years to finally come up with their script, but filmmaker Vikram Kumar takes the cake. The 13B director took six long years to complete the film. Kumar was keen to work with R Madhavan and had approached the actor earlier but the latter insisted on a good script. So Kumar spent two years to come up with a story idea and four to pen down a hardbound script of 13B. But loves labour was not lost,as Madhavan loved the script and instantly signed the project. The film was then shot in 40 days flat.
Getting their due
Indian talent is being recognised internationally and not just in LA. The Hong Kong International Awards, acknowledging the achievement of Jodhaa Akbar, have nominated music director AR Rahman and art director and production designer Nitin Chandrakant Desai for the exquisite sets. Looks like the talents in the Indian film industry are making the world sit up and finally take notice.
Dancing damsel
Actress Richa Chadda, who made her debut in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! opposite Abhay Deol, has an unusual way of coping with stress. Well-versed in various forms of dance like jazz, kathak and belly dance, among others, she says that whenever she is stressed, she puts on her dancing shoes and moves to her favourite music. Chadda is so passionate about the art that she intends to open a dance school post-retirement. We hope that isnt too soon.
