The Pune division of Central Railway has launched a crackdown on touts who sell seats in trains. During the ongoing drive,railway authorities have so far detected two cases and also prosecuted such people,who take money from passengers for seats.
The railway authorities had focused on mass contact areas like unreserved ticketing system ( UTS) machines,reservation centres and counters,railway travel service agents and others.
On Monday,one person was arrested from the Azad Hind Express,after passengers complained that he was demanding money from them in return for seats.
Again on Tuesday,railway authorities arrested another person,who was trying to get a reserved ticket in an unauthorised way from Pune railway station.
Spokesperson for Central railway (CR) Y K Singh on Friday informed that the drive would continue in the future.
