For Pune-based Sabarna Chatterjee,who recently participated in KBC 4,the show was an opportunity to meet quiz master Siddharth Basu and host Amitabh Bachchan

When I start talking,I dont let anyone else talk, is what she said to Amitabh Bachchan when he asked her why her friends call her a Chatter Box? In a show like Kaun Banega Crorepati 4,where AB Senior is the host,she not only dared to bombard him with questions like If he weren’t an actor,then what would he be?’ but also gave him a suggestion that he could have opted to be a singer. Thats 24-year-old Sabarna Chatterjee,the carefree and bubbly Pune girl who recently participated in KBC 4. Despite playing extremely well till Rs 12.5 lakhs,she was slightly confused about a particular answer and that brought her prize money down to Rs 3.2 lakhs. Nevertheless,the overall experience of being a contestant at the show goes beyond material calculations,she says.

Apart from the desire to meet Bachchan,she clarifies that it was not the money but the admiration she had for Siddharth Basu,who has conceptualised KBC,that attracted her towards the show ever since it began in 2000. The dream came true on the sets when she came face-to-face with both the men she had admired since childhood. After numerous unsuccessful attempts in the past three seasons of KBC,this year I just sent one SMS and to my surprise,I got a call from KBC the very next day, recalls Chatterjee,who is currently working at Tech Mahindra.

During the 15 days that she had to prepare for the show,she read a number of newspapers and magazines to brush up her knowledge and even indulged in general group discussions with friends on various topics. But once on the hot seat,she confesses that she merely had a good time playing the game and interacting with the actor.

Revealing some interesting facts about the show,she says that before the camera starts rolling,both Bachchan and Basu meet each and every contestant. Each participant is briefed to play at ease and not get too excited or nervous. They also guide participants on how to use the lifelines carefully. Even the audience is given tips on how to put the contestant at ease by cheering him/her, adds Chatterjee.

And as far as her colleagues,friends and family are concerned,she says,I have already given so many treats to them since I returned to Pune! I have become the centre of attraction in my office. Everyone wants to know about my experience. That is one reason she has penned the whole KBC experience in her blog.

Apparently,the show also gave her an opportunity to meet Abhishek Bachchan who happened to drop in on the sets during the shoot.

Though as per the contract,she can get the prize money cheque cashed only after 60 days,Chatterjee is clear about what purpose she will be using it for. I am associated with an NGO called Nanhi Kali for the past two years and will be using the money for the same. I have already sponsored the education of one girl and intend to continue doing social work in the future too, she adds.

But that comes later. As of now,she regards the prize money cheque,the pictures that she clicked with both the Bachchans and the autograph by Basu as souvenirs for life.
