Taking the Party Online

The use of #WIFW,#WLS and #Indianfashion hashtags were compulsory for the tweet to be answered.

At 3:30 pm on March 11,models Fleur Xavier and Nethra Raghuraman — popular as The Little Red Tote — took a break from their hectic fitting sessions for Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW) and headed to a “party”,albeit on Twitter. The 30-minute party was hosted by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI),an apex body representing over 350 Indian designers. Rules were simple; one had to log into their Twitter account and mark @littleredtote for tweets directed to Xavier and Raghuraman or add @TheFDCI for tweets directed to FDCI. The use of #WIFW,#WLS and #Indianfashion hashtags were compulsory for the tweet to be answered.

A fashion enthusiast asked the models what they are looking forward to at the WIFW,which begins on March 13 in Delhi. Little Red Tote tweeted back that they are excited about “meeting friends, fantastic designers and a lot of work as well as fun!” In the middle of a flood of questions from fans,a spot-on interview with the Twitter face of WIFW,actor Neha Dhupia, was announced by fashion blogger Miss Malini. She retweeted questions directed to Dhupia by followers and the actor answered them. Dhupia made it clear that though she will not be seen on the ramp this season, she will be on her toes (and her phone) tweeting and giving real time updates about designers, collections and the happenings at the fashion week.
