Asian Roll Ball championship to begin next week
The Maharashtra Roll Ball Federation along with the Indian Federation will conduct the Asian Roll Ball Championship in Victoria Park,Hong Kong from July 16-18 with a view to increasing the games popularity at the international level. The championship will be sponsored by Checker Sports,Hong Kong and will feature teams like Hong Kong,Macau,China,Taiwan,Singapore,Malaysia,Pakistan,Bangladesh,Nepal,UAEand India. For this championship,Shailesh Apte,Ashok Kale and Ishan Kamlapurkar will be going as technical officials,while MS Tyagi,project officer- SAI and Narendra Sopal,joint director,Sports and Youth Affairs Department,will go as observers.
Sports trainers course from July 23
A Sports Trainers Orientation Certificate Course will be organised at PYC Hindu Gymkhana from July 23-25 by fitness trainer Mahendra Gokhale. The first of its kind in the city,the course will be open to all sports coaches,instructors,trainers,fitness lovers.
The programme consists of a combination of theory and practical training which will be conducted on field as well as in the gymnasium. The course will cover topics such as introduction and importance of sports conditioning,basic anatomy and physiology terms and definitions,training principles ,training components,fitness testing,body composition,age-wise development of a trainee,planning fitness programme,warming up and cooling down,running techniques,coordination and skill drills. The last date of enrollment is July 21.
