Unwind with the eastern tunes as DJ Duster will mix and merge beats for the hard core party hoppers this weekend. Playing Minimal technoin a city lounge,DJ Duster from Russia began DJ’ing in 2002 and is promoting drum’n’bass music in Tomsk under the TUG.ru label. Opening the first and the only drum&bass portal in Siberia his sets are played on radios and his online mixes Booksir very popular. Denis Duster prefers two d&b sub genres: techno-influenced d&b and liquid-funk; his mixes contain a lot of Russian as well as foreign productions. Recently,he has also began playing minimal techno and deep house. Duster will perform on October 24 at Aquaa the water Lounge,9.30 pm onwards.
Awarding music
Eberhard J Wirfs,international president,Lions International Music Prize 2010 proposes to hold a Global Youth Music competition involving instrumental violin renditions. Winners of preliminary rounds will proceed to the multiple level and thereafter,to the International Arena at Sydney,Australia in 2010. The prize money for the first position is $ 10,000. The auditions will be held on October 24,10.30 pm onwards at the Maulana Azad Smarak Hall,Koregaon Park.Candidates between the age 18 to 25 can apply for the competitionto be held at Maulana Azad Smarak Hall,Burning Ghat Road,Bund Garden Chowk. Prodigal wars
The gods of talent bestowed their blessings on the little tots who showcased their best at the grand finale of Entre Nous’ Ishanya Kids Idol 09- Dance Your Way through competition which took place at Ishanya recently. About 3500 children aged between 4 and 13 and from over 40 schools and dance institutes auditioned for the show in its initial stages. The subsequent rounds saw that massive number whittled down to the final 21. Saumya Kamble From B N N Dastur School and Mihir Soni of Bounce Academy Dance Studio were honored with the winner’s and the rolling trophy in the junior and senior categories respectively. Runner-ups in the junior category included Mayank Gaikwad from Nagarwala Day School and Anushka Dhoka from Podar International School while Aanchal Agarwal from St Helena’s School and Karishma Pathare from NCL School barely missed the top spot. The award for the ‘School with the maximum participation of students’ was bagged by SSPMS Junior.
