A Class Apart
There couldnt have been a better way to spend the weekend than watching the amazing star cast of the play Class of 84 give a terrific performance to leave the audience spellbound. The play,which had some of the well-known faces of theatre like Rajit Kapur,Shernaz Patel,Zafar Karachiwala, Sohrab Ardeshir,Devika Shahani,Vikrant Chaturvedi,Rituraj and Anahita Uberoi kept the audience engrossed with the plot that was not only hilarious but also captivating. The story revolved around these friends,who were best friends during their college days. The seven friends meet up because of the death of their eighth friend,Jojo. With slick dialogues and classy one-liners which were quite close to real life sequences,Class of 84 left the audience in splits on occasions more than one. The play that was written and directed by Rahul daCunha was a part of Expressions Theatre Fest,was held on Saturday,February 6 at the Amphitheatre,Amanora Park Town,at 7.30 pm.
Classically Salted
The first ever run of the Silver Salt Animation festival,which was held on Saturday at the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) by animation industry stalwart VG Samant and ex dean of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Samar Nakhate. The screening saw films like Samba Mamba,Human Being,and Catharsis being screened for the audiences. Movies like Endeavor that was made by fourth graders from UK,and The Lion At Home got rave reviews from the audiences. The screening that featured the creative élan of a myriad of filmmakers representing more than 25 countries was a five hour-long affair with an hour-long break. In addition there were also workshops about portfolio making,interactive sessions about the aesthetic nuances of the history of animation industry.
