The flower spoke to the butterfly -how I wish I could fly away with you! Alas,I have a root but you are free to come and go-with these soulful words and more,The Poona Music Society is hosting a Leider Recital by Viola da Cunha and Alan Peach. Viola sings regularly with Amici del Arte,of which she is a founding member. Amici del Arte specializes in operetta and gives regular concert performances of works by Lehar,Novello,Coward,Monkton,Kern and other composers of that genre. Her colleague Alan Peach will contribute with the piano in the concert that wil be held on Friday at Mazda Hall,7 pm onwards.
Tribute to the Maestro
Deogandhar,a musical tribute to Rajabhau Deo will be held by vocal recital at S M Joshi Hallthis weekend. Shivani Marulkar and the Dhrupad maestros Gundecha Bandhus,Pt Ramakant and Umakant Gundecha will add colours with their performance. Legendary Pakhawaj player Manik Munde Vishwanath Shirodkar and Rahul Gole will accompany the performers. Ninadini Group Pune is hosting the event to be held on Saturday,5.30 pm onwards at Navi Peth
Fitting fight
Honouring 20 gym owners the third Fitness Carnival is set to kick off in the city. The two day event,with an addition of the third day for fitness awards presentation,will be held from January 29 to 31. Nicole Ball,who is an Olympian,and amongst the top five women in the world with a six-pack abs wil be the guest of honor. Tushar Ramanan,director Tushar Fitness Studio (TFS) has conceptualized the event that includesthe strongest man and the fittest woman in Pune,the cardio challenge,the 3-minute dance fit and so on to be held at Ishanya. The Carnival is open for participation to any individual who wants to be part of the fitness fun.
Artists arcade
Three budding artists from Karnataka,Vishwanath E,Lokesh M R Vinod Kumar have put up their exclusive creations of prints in contemporary art in the city. They have already presented similar exhibitions in Birla Academy Of Fine Arts in Kolkata andKyoto Saga university in Japan.The show was inaugurated on tuesday by Samir Dey,the eminent artist from Santiniketan. The exhibition will remain open at Art2Day Gallery,Shukrawar Peth till Saturday,from 11 am to 6 30pm
