Come May 9,Puneites will have an opportunity to treat themselves with unmatched music,as Aperture India brings Smaeep Kulkarni and Amano Manish for a concert,Sitar n Guitar in the city.The concert is open for all and is to be held at Aperture India,Millennium Plaza,FC Road. Kulkarni,who started learning sitar at age if six,performs fusion,pop,African,Bollywood and rock along with Indian classical,which is his forte. Manish hails from from Senia Maihar Gharana,which was founded by Acharya Baba Allauddin Khan Saheb. Manish calls his music a celebration of love and meditation and aspires to share and celebrate this quality in music in his musical journeys.

Festivities and food
It was a memory down the lane as a moment for the members of Assamese community in the city,who celebrated Rongali Bihu recently,under the banner of Assam Cultiral Association of Pune (ACAP). The function began with Husori,followed by Diha Naam,performed by invited Bihu artists Someshwar Koch,Jayanta Bhuyan,Nipul Bora,Ridip Das Pabita Bora,Anup Boruah And Ritu Bora from Assam. Later Samuhik Aashirwad was given to people present. Apart from other cultural events,a fusion dance named Pohar performed by Devika Borthakur and troupe was presented. Sangeetalokhya was also sung by the troupe from Assam. Bonti Prajwalan was done by advocate Nilesh Nikam,councilor,Pune Municipal Corporation and Bhanupratap Barge,senior inspector of Police,who were theb guests. Apart from wishing the people of Assam,the guests also spoke about the rich culture of Assam and friendship between people of Assam and Maharashtra.

Politically correct
Grand premiere of Marathi film — Gallit Gondhal Dillit Mujra — took place at Mangala theatre recently. Produced by Zee Talkies,the film,a comedy,portrays the political scene in a remote village. It depicts the rivalry between two politicians due to which the development of the village suffers. The lead roles are played by Sayaji Shinde,Nagesh Bhosle and Makarand Anaspure. The entire cast and crew of the film was present in the city for the premiere. The film is the directorial debut of Nagesh Bhosle.
