Groove with blues
Tonight,city revellers can drive their blues away at Swig,Koregaon Park as blues-world groove-jam band Smokestack will take centrestage at 9 pm. Named after the legendary song by howling Wolf,the band is inspired by folk and roots music as well as rhythmic influences from around the world. With Anoop on acoustic guitar,bass and voice,Vidula on vocals,Michael on harmonica,Vishal on bass,electric guitar and vocals,and Shreyas on drums and percussion,the evening will be a blend of different beats.
Ringin’ in Christmas
Heralding the spirit of Christmas,Dinyar Antia and his Vibrant Voices Choir will present ‘The Christmas Festival of School Choirs 2010’ on December 15 at Gulati Hall,St Vincent’s School,Camp. Like every year,over 15 schools will participate in this musical extravaganza. One can expect old favourites like Rocking around the Christmas Tree,Drummer Boy,I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa,including original compositions of Dinyar Antia like On a cold winters night and Listen to the Sound of Church Bells Ringing. The event will begin at 6 pm and it promises to be an enthralling one for listeners.
