Three authors from Pune Jyoti Kanetkar,Nandini Hate-Mane and Salil Desai have been featured in two recently released anthologies
Coming from different walks of life,three city-based authors- Jyoti Kanetkar,Salil Desai and Nandini Hate-Mane find a common medium of expressions in short stories. Their short stories characterised by their respective styles of writing and their own interpretations of life have been included in the recently released books by Unisun Publications titled- The Shrinking Woman and other stories and The Curse of the Bird and other paranormal stories.
Another story in the same book is by Salil Desai titled- A bit on the side. A short filmmaker,Desai’s short film- To Khayega Kya was selected for Hyderabad International Film Festival,while another short film- Making Amends was screened on Doordarshan. With over 200 articles and short stories to his credit,Desai’s writing skill is characterised by twists,surprises and the dramatic conclusion that it arrives to.
The second book published is The Curse of the Bird and other paranormal stories and Nandini Hate-Mane’s two stories- In the Library,a ghost story and The past present,based on experiences like Déjà vu and past life,are included in the book. “I have been a journalist and writing comes naturally to me. I turned to spiritual healing after the birth of my son. Narrating the experiences of my life in the form of a short story thus becomes easier,” says Hate-Mane whose spiritual inclination reflects on her writing style giving the readers an experience of the unknown whisper.
